Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and scope

This Privacy Policy is published by the developer ChengYuan Chang (JiXingDa Company Taiwan), email admin@esim168.com. It applies to the AiClass app on every mobile and desktop platform where it is offered, and to this website, aiclass.jxdtw.com.

2. Data we collect

• Recordings and transcripts: audio you record, transcripts, bookmarks, key points, question bank and notes. These are stored on your device. Recordings are only uploaded when you use cloud transcription (see section 4).
• Learning progress: quiz answers, review history and your weak-spot model. Stored on your device.
• Account: email address, password hash (we never store plaintext passwords) and user ID.
• Purchases: the PayPal transaction ID and payment status for website purchases, or the receipt or transaction ID from the app marketplace for in-app purchases. We never receive your full card or bank details.
• Account, trial and activation: a random identifier created by the app on first launch, used to link your device to your account and purchases, to run the 7-day trial, and to limit each account to two devices. We do not collect advertising IDs or permanent hardware identifiers.

3. Device permissions

• Microphone: to record lectures. Recording only happens while you have started it.
• Speech recognition: to produce the live transcript. Transcription runs on your device, using the operating system's built-in speech recognition or a Whisper speech model downloaded to your device, and works without an internet connection.
• Files: only the audio or document files you choose to import or export.

4. AI features

AI features such as key points and the question bank only run after you tap the button and agree. When they run, the relevant transcript text is sent to the AI model provider you connected in the app to generate the result. We do not use your content to train AI models.

Cloud transcription: live transcription on your device is fast but less accurate. When you choose cloud transcription, the recording is sent over an encrypted connection directly to the AI provider you connected in the app (we recommend a ChatGPT subscription) to produce an accurate transcript, and the text is then corrected by AI. The audio does not pass through or stay on our account servers; how the AI provider handles it is governed by that provider's own privacy terms. If you use the transcription server instead (the app's default address, or a server you enter in settings), the recording is sent to that server rather than to an AI provider, over the connection that server is configured to use.

5. How we use data

• Create and verify accounts, reset passwords and delete accounts.
• Activate and restore the plan you purchased.
• Process refunds, provide support and prevent fraud.
• Meet legal obligations.

6. Sharing

• PayPal: processes website payments.
• App marketplaces: process in-app purchases.
• The AI provider you connect (for example ChatGPT): only the recordings you send for cloud transcription and the transcript text you choose to process, as described in section 4.

Account and purchase data are kept on servers we operate. We do not sell personal data, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.

7. Retention and deletion

Recordings, transcripts and learning progress are kept on your device long-term, until you delete them in the app or uninstall it. You can share a recording or save a copy to another location of your choice; copies you share or save elsewhere are no longer controlled by the app and follow the terms of wherever you put them.

Delete your account: in the app, go to Me › Account › Delete account, or email admin@esim168.com from your account email with the subject “Delete account”. We delete or anonymize your account data within 30 days. Payment records may be kept in de-identified form for as long as the law requires.

8. Security

Account and purchase traffic uses HTTPS. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, and payment keys are kept on the server only. Audio sent to a transcription server uses that server's configured connection (see section 4).

9. Children

AiClass is made for university students and adult learners. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
